Posture could be a Problem

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Research is showing that better posture helps lessen the symptoms of depression. If you are folded over it’s not a very positive position either. If you want to tackle the day you have to be ready and not slouched to the floor. I personally feel happier when I walk with my posture in a straight line. Might just be me, but I feel very sad when I am all dropped over. Stand in a mirror and just see the difference from the side and front. It’s amazing how empowered you feel when you are standing up straight. Check on yourself every so often. Maybe as you fall asleep tonight focus on your deep breathing before you drift off, I will be. As you walk tomorrow do a self check to make sure you are walking with those shoulders back.Well, your Mother Always Told You to Sit Up Straight!

I notice that when I sit at my computer I have a bad habit of slouching. Doing this folds my chest and makes it very hard to get the full belly breath that we need. Messes up all of my chemicals. Next time you are surfing the web, make sure that you are sitting up straight. This is also a good time to practice those breathing exercises. Move that oxygen all around!

Sit up straight, take a deep breath and relax.

Compliment Yourself

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

Yes. It is very important to compliment yourself at once each day. Many a time we dress up well or spray a nice perfume and are expecting someone to compliment. Well, dont’t wait for others to compliment you. Do it yourself. This helps you in loving yourself more and more each day and the more you love yourself, you become happy and your confidence is also boosted. There are many good qualities and positivity in you but maybe you have given so much importance you the odds in your life that the positivity has taken a back seat. Now, realize yourself – the pure, good and positive YOU and compliment yourself for it. Keep yourself happy and you shall soon find the peace and calmness inside you that you are actually searching outside. Keep Smiling :-)

Do Not Depend on the Opinions of Others

Sunday, April 19th, 2009

How much do you depend on the opinion of others? When we worry what people may think or say, we place a burden on our mind. Subconsciously we work towards trying to please others. However, when we have this state of mind it becomes impossible to relax. No matter what we do or say, there will always be someone who manages to criticise or find fault. Therefore, we should develop an attitude of detachment to both praise and criticism.

This doesn’t mean we’re indifferent to the views of others; it just means we won’t allow ourselves to lose our inner peace because of their opinions. This piece of advice isn’t easy to implement but over time we can gradually give less importance to the views of others. Relaxation can only occur if we aren’t constantly thinking about what others are saying and doing. Remember, we are born for ourselves and living this life for happiness.
